I just realized that once the Doctor Strange movie comes out, Doctor Strange will be considered a more “mainstream” character and that means there’ll be WAY more Doctor Strange merchandise out there than there is now. This excites me.
Here’s the thing about the Ant-Man and Dr. Strange movies.
Not all that surprising. Both are awesome news, don’t get me wrong, the fact that we’ll finally get a theatrical Doctor Strange movie means that I can barely stop myself from pissing with glee.
But Ant-Man has been in the works for a long time now. Edgar Wright is, I feel, the perfect director to handle something like Ant-Man and I’m glad that Marvel Studios didn’t go with someone else in favor of getting the film out sooner. Good move.
And if you follow the Marvel Movie news at all, you know that Kevin Feige has been talking about Doctor Strange, be it wanting to work the good doctor into a cameo role somewhere or finally getting around to doing a full length feature film, for years. He shares my love of Strange, which is good. Puts me at ease a little bit.
A conversation last night between two big Doctor Strange fans
- Me: There's a rumor that Doctor Strange is going to have a cameo in Thor 2.
- Co-Worker: Oooooh.
- Me: Which could be good or bad, depending on who they get to play him.
- Co-Worker: Yeah, good point. Hey, maybe Stan Lee could play him.
- Me: Oh god there's part of me that actually wants to see that happen.
